Imagine feeling confident in your approach- knowing what to say and how to create a climate that makes everyone feel comfortable and able to perform at their best. Imagine being a leader in your field, shifting the culture of sport.
This course will empower sporting coaches from a club to an international level to take a body confident approach with their athletes.
You will have 12 months to complete the self paced study including 3 hours of video content, reflections and practical applied work.

1) REFLECTIONS ON BODY IMAGE
Through an introduction to body image, this module helps you to gain the confidence you need to be aware of the impact of body image on yourself and your athletes. We use interviews and stories of how coaches have been champions of change for their athletes to show how its done and discuss what being a supportive body image coach looks like.
2) WHEN WE SAY BODY IMAGE, WHAT DO WE MEAN?
Thorough and deep dive into body image - what it is from the current evidence, what it means to athletes and what it means to explore our own body image. We demonstrate how promoting body confidence of athletes leads to better performances and longevity in their sport.
3) BODY CONFIDENT ENVIRONMENTS
Learn the do's and don'ts of creating positive body image spaces. What not to do to build trust with your athletes, and how you can provide supportive, inclusive and safe spaces.
4) DISORDERED EATING AND EATING DISORDERS
Learn how to recognise, identify, approach, and refer athletes who may be experiencing issues on to other health professionals. We talk you through an easy step by step tool - the Athletic Disordered Eating Scale, and how it can be used sensitively to refer on your athlete or support their needs.
