DR GEORGIE BUCKLEY

Body Confident Sport Lead

Georgie's PhD explored the experiences of disordered eating in current and former athletes, and she developed a tool to help identify disordered eating and body image concern.

Georgie is also an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, specialising in disordered eating in athletes and eating disorders.

Georgie comes to Body Confident Collective after working in a range of sports settings. She has worked at Boston Childrens Hospital, Harvard Medical School, The Victorian Institute of Sport, Essendon Football Club and has consulted broadly at a range of sporting clubs and organisations. Her research background has led her to present at academic and clinical conferences all around the world.

Georgie brings this wealth of knowledge and experience to her work at BCC where she has developed the Body Confident Sport Guidelines, combining the best evidence with her knowledge of athlete-centred lived experience to provide practical recommendations for athletes, coaches, parents, organisations, and sports media.
